Mortimer Olive Productions in association with Circle X Theatre Company present a world premiere comedy JAWBONE OF AN ASS, written by Nan Schmid and directed by Jim Anzide. JAWBONE OF AN ASS will preview Friday, April 30, 2010 and will open on Saturday, May 1 and run for five weeks through Saturday, May 29 at the Lillian Theatre, 6322 Santa Monica Blvd. (at Lillian Way) in Hollywood.
In JAWBONE OF AN ASS, Paige Marie Hollister's world is rocked when she discovers her husband is missing. Suddenly this small town, overly polite, religiously repressed woman and her entire community must come to grips with what has happened. All seems lost when her best friend and former fellow member of the Christian's Gals Singing Trio, Cora Ann Wormley takes her to meet the man of the hour - bestselling author and religious leader Dr. Peter D. Admore, who encourages Paige Marie to help find herself by entering The Pillsbury Bake-off. Years of old secrets and hidden lies are revealed in a hilarious circus of complicated events.ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAMNAN SCHMID (Playwright) is an alumnus of The Second City and the TIME acclaimed playwright, actress and producer of Tallulah, which was first performed in Los Angeles and was the Pick of The Week by The Reader. The play was critically celebrated by, The Los Angeles Times among many other publications. She also wrote and produced the award winning short film "Renee Turns 40" which was optioned by Touchstone Television. When living in Los Angeles, Nan also worked with the deftly comical Theatre A Go Go and was almost a founder member of Circle X Theatre Company before she decided to head East to New York where she has appeared off- off and off- Broadway in numerous productions.Videos
