Chris Isaacson presents Richard Shelton at Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood
Internationally acclaimed performer, Richard Shelton, is returning to Hollywood after another spectacular run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for a one-night-only show at Catalina Jazz Club on Thursday, October 13 at 8:30 PM. Shelton's hit show, 'SINATRA AND ME,' explores the incredible synchronicities between him and Frank Sinatra, while evoking the charisma and magnetism for which Sinatra was known. Shelton, who is best known to UK television audiences as the charmingly murderous Dr. Adam Forsythe on the hit UK television series Emmerdale, has been a lifelong fan of Sinatra's work, and was nominated for 'Best Actor in a Leading Role' for his portrayal of Sinatra in the hit West End drama Rat Pack Confidential. US audiences have seen Shelton on Showtime's House of Lies, and will see him soon when he recurs on Jane the Virgin. He was recently nominated as 'Best Supporting Actor' at both the Chicago and London Horror Film Festivals for his work as Detective Forbes in the film, Do Not Disturb.
Shelton has performed to sell-out crowds at London's Coliseum Theatre and the legendary Ronnie Scott's jazz club. He has performed for British Royalty, as well as celebrities including Sir Elton John and Harvey Weinstein. In the US, Richard regularly plays at the exclusive members-only club, Soho House West Hollywood.
Richard's debut US album, 'An Englishman in Love in L.A,' was recorded at Capitol Studios along with Sinatra's original band mates. It takes the audience on a nostalgic, yet innovative musical journey with beautiful, fresh arrangements, inspired by new jazz and swing. The original title track celebrates life's new beginnings in a style reminiscent of 'Come Fly with Me' and 'Fly Me to the Moon.' The new, gentle, ballad version of 'It's Not Unusual' is a stand-out track, which tugs at the heart strings.
