By:

With his infectious enthusiasm and keen eye for detail, Charles Phoenix celebrates the 55th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom's grand opening with his Retro Disneyland Slide Show. One performance only takes place at the Crown Plaza Hotel Anaheim Resort in Garden Grove on Saturday morning, July 17 at 10 a.m.

Charles shows ands tells the back story of long-gone attractions including the Phantom Boats, Flying Saucers, Indian Village, Carousel of Progress, and other favorites. Also experience the early days of Main Street USA, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Frontierland.

Charles Phoenix has spent years collecting and researching these vintage images and the history of the park.

"Disneyphiles will enjoy seeing some classic images of the park gone by, including the original Tomorrowland when it was promoted as ‘The World of 1987,' he says, "We'll also check out the all-new Tomorrowland when it was launched in 1967. I'll share the flaming back story of the monorail; take you inside the ultra space-age, all plastic House of the Future; and fly you to the moon in the legendary TWA Rocket."

Audiences will also tour Freedomland USA, the ill-fated Disneyland wannabe theme park that opened in New York City in 1960, and much, much more! Your imagination will be inspired and your spirit will soar!

Charles Phoenix's Retro Disneyland Slide Show takes place on the 55th anniversary of the park's grand opening, Saturday, July 17 at 10 a.m. Tickets are $25.
