Celebration Theatre Presents AT THE FLASH LA Premiere, Now thru 5/26

Celebration Theatre has announced an added show to its celebratory 30th Anniversary Season, the Los Angeles premiere of a new play, AT THE FLASH, written by Sean Chandler, performed by David Leeper and directed by David Zak. AT THE FLASH will begin previews tonight, May 15th and will open on Friday, May 17th and will perform through Sunday, May 26th at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood.

AT THE FLASH is a fierce and funny show that condenses LGBT history into the story of five characters - a closeted man in the 1960s, a black drag queen in the 1970s, a club kid in the 1980s, a budding lesbian activist in the 1990s, and a family man/entrepreneur in the 2000s.

David Leeper is thrilled to see At The Flash in full production with Celebration Theatre. His background includes leading roles in David Mamet's Oleanna, Lanford Wilson's Fifth of July, Tom Dudzick's Greetings, and smaller productions of Christopher Durang's Titanic and Bobby Gould in Hell.

He studied at the Portland Actor's Conservatory, South Coast Repertory Theater, and CSU Fullerton. He is a former Artist in Resident of the Vanguard Theatre Ensemble.

Sean Chandler and David Leeper, legally married since 2008, reside in Woodland Hills, CA. Together and separately their scripts include At The Flash (Winner of 2012 Pride Films and Plays Great Gay Play and Musical Contest), Radical Morality (PFP Great Gay Screenplay Contest Semi-Finalist, Creative World Awards Semi-Finalist, Nicholl Fellowship Quarter-Finalist, Square Magazine Screenplay Contest Finalist), Kissing the Frog Prince (Scriptoid Festival, All Access Screenwriters Competition & The Screenplay Festival Semi-Finalists) and The Pack (Creative World Awards Semi-Finalist). AT THE FLASH features Lighting Design is by Matthew Denman. The stage manager is Sean Lambert.

AT THE FLASH will preview on Wednesday, May 15th and Thursday, May 16th at 8pm; and will open on Friday, May 17thand run through Sunday, May 26th at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd (1/2 block east of La Brea) in Hollywood.

Performances are Friday, May 17th and Saturday, May 18th at 8pm and Sunday, May 19th at 2pm. Wednesday, May 22nd,Thursday, May 23rd and Saturday, May 25th at 8pm and Sunday, May 26th at 2pm.
