Casting and Performance Schedule Announced For THE LAST FIVE YEARS at New East Hollywood Venue ImageSKIPTOWN PLAYHOUSE, is pleased to announce casting and performance schedule of THE LAST FIVE YEARS, the hit Off-Broadway musical comedy by Jason Robert Brown. Scheduled to play July 19 through August 3rd, 2018, THE LAST FIVE YEARS will star Sasha Travis (Dinner with the Savages) and Vincenzo Carubia (Co-Founder, Skiptown Playhouse) at the new East Hollywood home of Skiptown Playhouse (665 N. Heliotrope Drive).

THE LAST FIVE YEARS, by Tony Award winning composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown is a musical deconstruction of a love affair and marriage taking place over a five year period. Centered around young lovers, Jamie Wellerstein and Cathy Hiatt, their story is told through songs using an intercutting time line device. THE LAST FIVE YEARS is presented by Skiptown Playhouse, and premieres as the venue's debut musical production. David Joseph Solomon directs.

Sasha Travis sees art as the connector of all things. In her career, she co-founded a theatre in Savannah, Georgia, inside of a historic train station. She directed actors on stage and in front of the camera. She has written for theatre and film. She has had the pleasure of creating music with truly phenomenal artists, and has helped organize and produce numerous large scale high-quality and exciting events. She has performed throughout the U.S. and internationally. She feels very lucky to be part of an amazing community of artists who are constantly creating powerful and visceral art to move and inspire audiences.

Vincenzo Carubia, born and raised in New Jersey studied film and television as well as performing arts at Savannah College of Art and Design. Upon earning his BFA, Vincenzo relocated to Los Angeles, CA where he has resided for almost ten years. Establishing first his film Production Company, Skiptown Productions, he has received awards for several of his directed and produced works ranging from music videos, to commercial competitions, as well as his Web Series "The Source" where he also carried the leading role. With extensive roots in musical theater, Vincenzo dove head in when an opportunity to rent a theater space presented itself, and he launched Skiptown Playhouse with two partners. This will be his return to stage in the venue's first production. He is grateful for his amazing and supportive family and dedicates this performance to his guardian angels and ancestors watching over him guiding his way.

David Joseph Solomon makes his musical directing debut with The Last Five Years. He's a writer, voice actor, musician and acting coach. He's directed short films, music videos, short-form web content and is the current voice over director at Hallmark Labs.

THE LAST FIVE YEARS begins previews July 19 and performs Thursday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 3:00 p.m., with an invite only opening on Wednesday, July 25. Performances are scheduled through Friday, August 3rd, 2018. Prices: $15 - $20
