CTG to Host 'Family Sundays' for THE SOUND OF MUSIC

By:

Center Theatre Group's Family Sundays program offers a special time at the theatre for clients of City of Hope, Para Los Niños, Bright Prospects and Alliance for Children's Rights as well as their families.

Launched earlier this year with the Ahmanson's presentation of MATILDA THE MUSICAL, Center Theatre Group's Family Sundays is offering 60 tickets to each organization for their clients and key support staff to see a Sunday performance of THE SOUND OF MUSIC at the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre. Before the performance, they will be invited to attend an interactive workshop led by CTG teaching artists and enjoy a meal at the Music Center, all at no cost to the guests or their supporting organizations.

"This is an opportunity for us to work with other nonprofits to serve their clients by doing what we do best," said Director of Education and Community Partnerships Leslie K. Johnson. "We offer a great experience in the theatre and a great family outing."

Family Sundays for City of Hope will take place September 20; for Para Los Niños, September 27; for Bright Prospects, October 4; and for Alliance for Children's Rights, October 18.

Center Theatre Group, a nonprofit organization, is one of the largest and most active theatre companies in the nation, programming subscription seasons year-round at the 736-seat Mark Taper Forum and the 1,600 to 2,000-seat Ahmanson Theatre at the Music Center of Los Angeles, and the 317-seat Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. In addition to providing theatre of the highest caliber to the diverse communities of Southern California and beyond, CTG supports a significant number of play development and arts education initiatives.
