COMEDY DYNAMICS Spins Off Into Stand Alone Company Led by CEO Brian Volk-Weiss
New Wave Entertainment today announced it will move Comedy Dynamics into a newly created full service entertainment entity, The Nacelle Company, LLC. Brian Volk-Weiss, the founder and president of Comedy Dynamics, has been elevated to CEO of the new company and will oversee all operations.
Paul Apel, CEO of New Wave, said, "Brian has done an outstanding job growing Comedy Dynamics into a market leader and as it continues to grow and expand, we needed to organize the business to address those needs."
Volk-Weiss explains, "We started our company as an organization focused on comedy and we have now expanded into other fields such as original scripted series, talk shows and documentaries. Nacelle will house all of our comedy and other projects under one roof."
The Nacelle Company will operate with multiple departments including pre and postproduction, management, development, as well as distribution. Nacelle is working on projects with Netflix, HBO, Discovery, Animal Planet, Hulu, Seeso, EPIX, MTV, HISTORY, Legendary, PBS, Lifetime, UCP and more.
The Grammy award-winning Comedy Dynamics Records will continue to operate as the comedy label, now housed under Nacelle. Formed in 2007, Comedy Dynamics was created originally as an audio-only label for stand up releases, but soon grew to include full audio and video specials. Since then, it has become the largest independent stand-up comedy production and distribution company. Comedy Dynamics has worked with a wide-range of established and emerging comedic talent including Kevin Hart, Louis C.K., Aziz Ansari, Jim Gaffigan, Katt Williams and many more. Comedy Dynamics is available on most streaming platforms including: Hulu, Roku, iOS, Amazon, and Android. Comedy Dynamics now has one of the biggest privately-owned stand-up libraries, with new productions filmed with both virtual reality technology as well as in 4k.
