Bootleg Theater Presents the World Premiere of THE WILLOWS

BOOTLEG THEATER is thrilled to announce the world premiere of THE WILLOWS, written by Kerri-Ann McCalla and directed by Jessica Hanna. THE WILLOWS will preview on Friday, April 6 & Saturday, April 7 at 7pm; Sunday April 8 at 2pm; will open on Thursday, April 12 at 7pm and run through Saturday, May 5 at 7pm at the Bootleg Theater, 2220 Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles.

At The Willows funeral home, Mark is being groomed to take over the family business from his father. But an unexpected reunion with the one that got away could derail those carefully laid plans in this moving new play about family, loss and love.

ABOUT THE "THE WILLOWS" CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST

Kerri-Ann McCalla (Playwright) is a writer living in Los Angeles, California. She writes for the stage, television and film. Her plays have been produced by Naked Angels, Downtown Urban Theater Festival and Urban Theatre Movement. Along with selected members of Urban Theatre Movement, McCalla was invited to workshop new material at New York Stage and Film and Vassar College Powerhouse Theater 2014 summer festival.

Jessica Hanna (Director) is a Los Angeles based Theater Maker who's smash-hit, critically acclaimed Priscilla Queen of the Desert is currently playing at Celebration Theatre. She has worked as an actor, director, choreographer and producer all over Los Angeles with many companies and spaces including, Open Fist, Sacred Fools, Evidence Room, John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, Greenway Court, Abundant Sugar, Occidental College, Atwater Village Theatre, Furious Theatre, Mine is Yours Theatre Co., B-Flat Productions, Center Theatre Group, Mutant Collective and Circle X. She has also had the pleasure of working with Anne Bogart and the SITI Co. as an actor at the Getty Villa twice. She has trained in Suzuki & Viewpoints since 2002. In June 2006 she co-founded Bootleg Theater and has been the Producing & Managing Director ever since. At Bootleg she has produced and worked with hundreds of artists and companies, overseeing production of all the theatrical and dance performances at Bootleg. Her focus has been on new work development with local artists. Recent directing credits include: Lisa Dring's Death Play, for the Son of Semele Solo Creation Festival and Circle X Theatre (full production). No H0mo, at Hollywood Fringe (Winner Best Director, Ensemble Theater, World Premiere and Golden Playwright), New York Fringe and Atwater Village Theatres, Four Chords and a Gun by John Ross Bowie at Bootleg, Nia Orm's' solo sketch show Who Do You Think You Are at the Downtown Independent and most recently I Carry Your Heart by Georgette Kelly at Bootleg.

THE WILLOWS will feature (in alphabetical order): Paul Dillon (Superior Donuts at the Geffen, Bengal Tiger At The Baghdad Zoo at the Kirk Douglas), Stefanée Martin ("The Get Down" on Netflix as Yolanda Kipling), Kacie Rogers (White Guy On the Bus at the Road Theatre), Thomas Sillcott (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom at the Mark Taper Forum), Lorinda Hawkins Smith (Suzan Lori Parks' F-ing A with the Illyrian Players), Napoleon Tavale (Much Ado About Nothing - Independent Shakespeare Company) and Cloie Wyatt Taylor ("Futureman" on Hulu).

The multi award-winning design team for THE WILLOWS is as follows: Set Design is by Amanda Knehans; Lighting Design is by Martha Carter; Sound Design is by Carlos Torres; Costume Design is by Elena Flores. The Stage Manager is Jeanne Valleroy. THE WILLOWS is produced by Jessica Hanna, Ammy Ontiveros and Katie DeVoe-Peterson.

SCHEDULE AND PRICING FOR "THE WILLOWS"

THE WILLOWS will preview on Friday, April 6 & Saturday, April 7 at 7pm; Sunday April 8 at 2pm; will open on Thursday, April 12 at 7pmand run through Saturday, May 5 at 7pm at the Bootleg Theater, 2220 Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles.

Performances are Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm. Select Sunday matinees we have FREE CHILDCARE, for kids 4-12 years old, provided by Red Rose Co. www.redroseco.com. Ticket prices are $20; $15 for students/seniors; Previews $15.
