Interview: Ian McKellen Talks About Working with Maggie Smith
When two of the best actors in the world are friends, what can you expect when one discusses the other? Why, stories and impersonations of course, as all good friends tend to do when talking about each other. Their impersaonations just might be better than the ones our friends might do.
Sir Ian McKellen and Dame Maggie Smith are friends and colleagues so when he was at an event titled "Women I've Filmed With" at LA's Fine Arts Theatre she came up not only as an actress but as a quick wit not afraid to get a bit cheeky. Both well-known theatre figures have worked together on film in 1995's RICHARD III and 1999's DAVID COPPERFIELD, and then both moved on to star in major movie series.
In this video Sir Ian discusses, and impersonates, working with Dame Maggie in RICHARD III and her opinions on his taste in jewelry.
