Sharon McNight (Tony nominee: STARMITES), Nayo Wallace (B'way: THE LION KING), Brett Ryback (MURDER FOR TWO in NYC and LA), and Brittney Bertier (Norma Jeane in MARILYN! THE NEW MUSICAL) join the class of (mostly)musicals #29: BACK TO SCHOOL on Monday, 8.27.18.
Unpack your backpacks (and your adjectives), take out your notebooks and #2 pencils, and get ready to go BACK TO SCHOOL with (mostly)musicals on Monday, 8.27.18 at Upstairs at Vitello's!
Gregory Nabours returns to music direct our night of songs about teaching, education, and learning lessons (or not!) BACK TO SCHOOL will feature a varsity team of returning talent including: Michael-Leon Wooley (B'way: LITTLE SHOP, FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE), Alli Miller (Cherry Poppins), Amanda Kruger (THE MITCHELL SANATORIUM CABARET), Domonique Paton (FROZEN: Live at the Hyperion), Emily Clark (THE RUNAWAY CLONE at #HFF18), Mark Jacobson (upcoming OPPENHEIMER at Rogue Machine Theatre), Nic Hodges (3D's ONCE ON THIS ISLAND and JOSEPH), and Tony Award nominee Sharon McNight! They'll be joined by a record number of new students making their mmLA debuts: Angela Parrish (singer/songwriter, vocals for LA LA LAND), Brett Ryback (composer/lyricist PASSING THROUGH), Brittney Bertier (national tour of SEUSSICAL), Erica Hanrahan-Ball (CABARET at La Mirada), James Olivas (STEEL PIER at UCLA), Michael Shaw Fisher (Ovation Award winner, SKULLDUGGERY), and Nayo Wallace (B'way: THE LION KING, film: SPEED RACER).
Extracurricular activities are so important, so please plan to stay AFTER school, and participate in our open mic afterparty - extra credit if you bring your own sheet music! Come early to enjoy Vitello's great food and drinks - and, of course, there will be party favors, er, school supplies!
Tickets are $20 and available at www.tinyurl.com/mmLA-SCHOOL. (There will be a $10 surcharge on all tickets purchased on the day of the show.) Doors open at 6:30pm for dinner and drinks, showtime is 7:30pm with the open mic afterparty immediately following.
