Photo Flash: Majestic Rep presents CLOWN BAR

It's a classic film noir tale: the hardboiled detective returns to his old watering hole to avenge the underworld murder of his brother...and rekindle an old flame. There's whiskey-soaked dialogue, sexy molls, a hooker with a heart of gold, and more gunplay than a Tarantino flick.

But these shady characters ain't gangsters.

They are something worse....

Majestic Rep continues its Summer Season with an immersive staging of Adam Szymkowicz's twisted dark comedy: CLOWN BAR. "As soon as you walk through the door, you'll be transported to a different world," said Artistic Director Troy Heard. "A world where a drink served funny just might include a rubber chicken instead of a twist of lime."

"Film noir has been parodied in so many forms, from 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' to 'Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid'," says Heard. "But the clown twist takes it to new heights...or lows. Because the action happens all around the room, every audience member will be given a clown nose so they can be part of the gang."

And although these nefarious denizens wear colored wigs and oversized shoes, CLOWN BAR is definitely not recommended for young audiences.
