Author Linda Stiles Fox falls outside Paseo Verde Library Henderson, Nevada the venue of the much anticipated Ladies of Literature and Their Stories event. After surgery for fractured femur and 10 day stint in rehab hospital Linda is home, resting and receiving physical therapy.

It was touted to be a truly special literary event. Nine extraordinary women authors were going to meet at the Paseo Verde Library in Henderson, Nevada. Months of preparation went into making sure everything was just right. Ladies of Literature and Their Stories was meant to be a presentation of these truly strong and determined women's works and the stories of adversity they face day in and day out.

The event had been coordinated by Linda Stiles Fox, noted romance author of "Forever Again" and "Forever Begins" and fellow author and friend Vicki-Ann Bush. Together they put plans in motion to reach out to these special ladies and was able to put together a wide array of talents all dealing with an array of adversity.

It was a really pretty day in Henderson/Las Vegas on that Saturday July 28, 2018.
The sun was shining with just a slight breeze. Linda and her husband arrived early at the venue to check out the set up and to add a flair to the settings.
After checking the scene out Linda and Bill went back out to their car to gather up the items for the tables and the food that was to be laid out for guests.

When everything turned on a smooth circular rock, literally. Linda, while walking beside her car, stepped on a rock resting on the asphalt parking lot within the handicapped parking spot. The rock caused her to loose her footing and with what seemed to be one motion one leg slipped out taking the other out and Ms. Fox fell to the already hot asphalt.

The ambulance trip to the hospital was a short one. Once brought into the emergency room Linda was poked and prodded, scanned and x-ray'd. Then the news, a fractured femur, requiring surgery.

The surgery was performed the next day, Sunday and on Monday she was transported to Horizon Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital. Linda spent 10 days going through occupational and physical therapy.

Linda is now home resting. She receives physical therapy twice a week in between visits to her oncologist. Linda is continuing to battle carcinoid cancer.

Through it all Linda continues to write. She was extremely disappointed she missed the Ladies of Literature event. She has said however that the event wasn't about her or really the other talented ladies. It was about reaching that one person that can possibly be helped through something they are experiencing by simply knowing they aren't alone.

This is just another chapter of Linda Stiles Fox's story. Ladies of Literature and Their Stories will hopefully be planned again.
