Kevin Burke Comes To Harrah's LV For 3,000th Performance June 7

By:

Seasoned comedic stage actor, playwright and star of "Defending the Caveman," Kevin Burke, will take the stage for his 3,000th performance of "Defending the Caveman" on June 7, 2011 at Harrah's Las Vegas. In celebration of this great milestone, $30.00 tickets and one buffet pass will be offered to Nevada residents for the entire month of June.

"3,000? Wow! It seems like it's only been 2,500! Seriously, though, it's hard for me to wrap my head around that number," said star Kevin Burke. "You'd think I'd have the script memorized by now."

"Harrah's Las Vegas and its 1,700 employees are thrilled to have 'Defending the Caveman' celebrate its 3,000th show at the world famous Improv Theater", said Rick Mazer, Harrah's Regional President. "We all congratulate Kevin and his outstanding performance, in one of the City's funniest shows, on this tremendous milestone."
Burke was born to be in show business. He hails from a long line of entertainers. His great grandmother was a vaudeville performer, his grandfather was a standup comedian who toured nationally and his mother is a singer. Burke caught the acting bug in his home city of Chicago, where he had his first starring role in his high school's production of "Dracula."

Burke began his performing arts career as a backup drummer touring with a number of bands. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in acting and directing from Indiana University at Bloomington, Burke landed his first acting gig at the Timberlake Play House, starring as Pooh in the play "Winnie the Pooh." Burke then found his niche with comedy and went on to perform in every small, medium and large club in the nation over the last 15 years.

In 2003, Burke was introduced to Rob Becker, the creator of "Defending the Caveman," who wrote the show during a three-year period while conducting an informal study of anthropology, prehistory, psychology, sociology and mythology. Burke has been performing the show ever since.

Burke has been honored as Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year for his work in "Defending the Caveman," and shows no signs of slowing down.
