Gold Coast to Hold Poker Run on 10/17 Benefiting the United Way

The Gold Coast Hotel and Casino will hold its first ever Poker Run to raise money for the United Way of Southern Nevada on Saturday, October 17. In a day of fun and excitement, participants are invited to ride their motorcycles (or cars) on a trek through Southern Nevada, stopping at five locations as they build a poker hand in an attempt to win the $500 Grand Prize. The nearly 125-mile adventure, beginning and ending at the Gold Coast, has checkpoints at Bonnie Springs, Saddle West Pahrump and Mountain Springs Saloon.
Following the run itself, participants will be treated to a complimentary barbeque, live performances from Moanin' Black Snakes and the chance to win one of seven $50 door prizes.All net proceeds from the Poker Run will go to the United Way.What:InaugurAl Gold Coast Poker RunWhen:
October 17, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- 9 to 10:30 a.m. - Check-in, registration and complimentary coffee and donuts
- 10:30 a.m. - Poker Run begins
- Noon to 3 p.m. - "After Ride Party" includes complimentary barbeque and soft drinks, live performances by the Moanin' Black Snakes and door prize drawings every 20 minutes from 1 to 3 p.m. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.
- 3 p.m. - "Poker High-Hand Grand Prize" winner will be awarded $500

Registration will take place under the Gold Coast marquee at Flamingo and Valley View. The registration fee is $25 a person, driving or riding. The first 250 registrants will receive ride pins to commemorate their participation. Additional draw cards may be purchased for $5 each and an additional voluntary "buy-in" pot for $10 per person.
