Two Cent Theatre Announces Auditions for

DO YOU FEEL ANGER? by Mara Nelson-Greenberg

Auditions for Two Cent Theatre’s production of, Do You Feel Anger?, will be held on Thursday, May 9th at 7:30 pm and Saturday, May 11th at 2:00 pm. Auditions will be held at Greene Block + Studios at 18 Main Street, Waterville ME.

Show Dates: December 13th, 14th & 15th at the Children’s Discovery Museum in Waterville, ME



The audition format will include readings of scenes.

About the Play: Sofia was recently hired as an empathy coach at a debt collection agency—and clearly, she has her work cut out for her. These employees can barely identify what an emotion is, much less practice deep, radical compassion for others. And while they painstakingly stumble towards enlightenment, someone keeps mugging Eva in the kitchen. An outrageous comedy about the absurdity—and the danger—of a world where some people’s feelings matter more than others.



Character Breakdown:

Casting for DO YOU FEEL ANGER? includes roles for 7 principal characters. With consideration of the playwright's intent and script content of power dynamics, we are seeking volunteer actors of diverse identities in terms of gender, race, physical ability, age, etc.

SOFIA– (Female, 20s-40s) An empathy coach fighting an uphill battle. She is good at her job and perhaps using that to distract herself from her struggles outside of the conference room.

JON – (Male, 30s-60s) The boss. He wants to help Sofia succeed (but mostly get her in and out with minimal effort in a way that doesn’t impact him at all).

EVA– (Female, 20s-40s) A worker at the agency. Someone keeps mugging her.

HOWIE– (Male, White, 20s-40s) A worker at the agency. Man-child #1. Aggressive.

JORDAN– (Male, 20s-30s) A worker at the agency. Man-child #2. A poet.

JANIE (Female, 40s-50s) A worker at the agency. She’s been through it. (Doubled with Sofia’s Mother)

SOFIA’S MOTHER– (Female, 40s-50s) Sofia’s mom. She’s trying. (Doubled with Janie)

OLD MAN– (Male, mid-40s+) Deranged. Or is he? He is. Or is he?

Rehearsal dates for the production will be determined after gathering cast availability. The cast can expect to be rehearsing 4-5 days a week. Not every cast member will be called for each rehearsal.
