About A Sign of the Times, A New 60s Musical
The Year is 1965. The pulse of a changing era lures Cindy from Middle America to the swirl of New York. Set against the backdrop of women’s liberation, the civil rights movement, and the Vietnam War, she pursues her passion of making a difference in the world. Unexpected friends, lovers, careers, and conflicts—and how the events of the day affect their relationships—are told through classic music from that era. Featuring the songs of Petula Clark and other hit-makers of the day, including “Downtown,” “If I Can Dream,” “The Boy from New York City,” and “You Don’t Own Me,” they’re all “A Sign of the Times!” Book by Bruce Vilanch, Directed by Gabriel Barre, Story Created by Richard Robin.
About the Position
The Audio Engineer (A1) will work with sound design team and DTC Staff to implement Sound Design. A1 will perform all duties typically required to an Audio Engineer of a theatrical production including, but not limited to:
Shop pull rented gear from the rental shop
Load-in and setup of rental and house gear to Sound System
Program and run the sound console and sound cue system, as directed by the Sound Designer, for the production.
Ensure all sound equipment in working condition for each rehearsal and performance.
Assist actors with body microphones, as needed, before and after performances
Supervise the backstage audio technician (A2)
Be present for all technical rehearsals and performances, including student matinees and previews.
Strike/Load-Out gear, and restore house system
