Giselle, or the Classical and Romantic ballet par excellence, was invented by a great French literature: Theophile Gautier.
The ballet consists of two acts: the first is the story of Giselle, which culminates in his death, but the second act concerns the legend of the Wilis and Giselle's love for Albrecht, culminating in the desire to save his life, although this was the main cause of his death.
