Three attorneys from a ver y successful law firm are called to handle a new case: they're asked to defend Charles Strickland, wealthy and well-nkown person, who's being acuused or raping a young Afro-American woman. Strickland, an extremely powerful and influential man, believes that he deserves to receive the justice that he pays for.
While dealing with the question of Strickland's guilt, the thrilling play leads to a profound discussion of topics such as discriminatiob, paranoia, collective consience, repetance and shame.
