Roscommon Drama Festival 2011 was launched recently announcing what is already proving a very popular line-up of theatre. Taking place across nine nights from 4th to 12th March at Roscommon Arts Centre, this year the committee have chosen plenty of old classics and contemporary showstoppers to entertain all. Already tickets are selling very fast and with just a few short weeks left until the opening night, audiences are advised to book early.

Tickets, priced at €14 / €12, can be reserved through Roscommon Arts Centre's box office on 090 625824.

Highlights this year include ‘The Loves of Cass Maguire' (Friday 4th) and ‘Dancing at Lughnasa' (Wednesday 9th) both written by Brian Friel. The classic ‘Playboy of the Western World' by JM Synge makes a welcome return on Monday 7th. Festival circuit favourites KATS from Galway will produce the intense ‘Portia Coughlan' (Tuesday 7th), one of two plays on the line-up written by Marina Carr, the other being ‘The Mai' (Saturday 5th). And of course the writings of the hilarious John B Keane will make an appearance with ‘The Field' on closing night, Saturday 12th March.

More details of all of the plays can be found at the arts centre or by logging on to www.roscommondramafestival.ie
