Riverdance Announces Irish Tour Dates 2010

By: May. 18, 2010

Riverdance celebrates its 15th birthday in Ireland by adding two new venues to its Irish itinerary and by returning to Dublin's Gaiety Theatre for a sensational seventh season.

From the 10th June, for 6 shows only, Riverdance plays the sunny South-East for the first time, in magnificent new Wexford Opera House. The show then moves into its summer home of the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin for a 10 week season from June 23rd through to August 28th.

Riverdance then heads to Derry for another premier when in the Millennium Forum from the 3rd to the 12th Sept. This is followed by return visits to Killarney INEC (5 shows 15th - 19th Sept) and The Royal Theatre Castlebar (7 shows from 29th Sept - 3rd Oct).

Composed by Bill Whelan, Produced by Moya Doherty and Directed by John McColgan, Riverdance opened in 1995 in the Point Theatre, Dublin and since then has been experienced live by over 22 million people worldwide. There have been over 10,000 performances in over 250 venues in 30 countries across 4 continents. In February 1997 the album won a Grammy Award as "Best Musical Show Album".
