Mick Foster (one half of the international recording duo Foster & Allen) comes to Roscommon Arts Centre to celebrate World Music Day 2012 on Thursday 21st June in a performance with his friends Noel Battle and Moyra Fraser.

Mick is a three times All-Ireland piano accordion champion and although his musical career has spanned every type of music from Dire Straits to Johnny Cash, his first love is Irish traditional music and he can be found, when not touring the world, at various traditional music sessions anywhere in Ireland.

Noel Battle, a virtuoso mouth organ player, has an amazing Twelve All Ireland Championships under his belt. This modest Mullingar man has teamed up with Mick Foster on a cd called "Mullingar Races" which has proved to be extremely popular in Ireland, the UK and America.

Moyra Fraser, their accompanist on piano, hails originally from Scotland but has made her home for the last 20 years in Ireland. Moyra is the band leader and musical director of Foster and Allen but her true musical enjoyment is from Irish and Scottish traditional music.

Tickets for this great night of traditional Irish music and craic are just €14/€12 and can be purchased through Roscommon Arts Centre’s box office at 090 6625824 or online at www.roscommonartscentre.ie.
