Live National and International Broadcasts of Wexford's Three Mainstage Productions from the National Opera House

Wexford Festival Opera will once again join forces with RTÉ lyric fm, its National Media Partner, to beam the final performances of each of this year's mainstage operas live across Ireland.

Niall Carroll will present the live performances of Herculanum on Friday 4 November at 8pm, Vanessa on Saturday 5 November at 8pm and Maria de Rudenz on Sunday 6 November at 5pm. The astounding operas can be heard live on Opera Night on 96-99 FM and online via www.rte.ie/lyricfm/opera-night

As in previous years, the 65th Wexford Festival will further enhance its international reputation with Saturday's performance of Vanessa being aired to public radio stations across the world via the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

Barber's dark tale of a woman waiting for her former lover's return will be aired in Portugal, Germany (Bayerischer Rundfunk, Hessicher Rundfunk, WDR) Hungary, Estonia, the US (WDAV), Canada, Latvia, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Serbia, the UK (BBC Radio 3), Slovenia, Sweden and Poland, reaching millions of listeners worldwide.

The 65th Wexford Festival Opera runs from Wednesday, 26 October to Sunday, 6 November and features 54 events including, Herculanum by Félicien David, Vanessa by Samuel Barber and Maria de Rudenz by Gaetano Donizetti. In addition to the three evening operas, this year's programme also includes three daytime ShortWorks operas, concerts, lunchtime recitals, a piano recital, a gala concert, lectures and talks. www.wexfordopera.com
