SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Not Expected To Return After 18 Seasons
The series last aired in May 2024 and has been on hiatus since.
In talks about the upcoming 2026-27 TV season, Fox Television Network president Rob Wade confirmed that the dance competition show is not projected to return, reported Variety.
The show last aired in May 2024 which featured judges Jojo Siwa, Allison Holker, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and host, Cat Deely.
After running consistently from 2005-2019, production took hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic and the show returned in 2022 with JoJo, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Matthew Morrison as judges. Production muddied when Morrison needed to step away from the show, citing failure to abide by “competition production protocols.” He was then replaced by Leah Remini. Later that same year, tWitch died by suicide, and the production did not pick back up on schedule. It returned two year later with a new format, which was not welcomed by fans, and crowned Anthony Curley as the season 18 winner.
“Obviously, a really important show in the history of Fox, and right now, there’s no plans to order another season. And you know, we’ve had conversations about it, but nothing formal.” stated Fox Television Network President, Rod Wade.
