Limousine is an indie band from France, playing instrumental music to the tune of electronic pop-jazz. Through minimalist sounds, Limousine has created a calm and relaxing sans lyrics songs. Its members come from different musical backgrounds: Laurent Bardainne (keyboards and saxophone), David Aknin (drums), Maxime Delpierre (guitar), and Frédéric Soulard (keyboards). In 2005, they launched an untitled album that has become a representation of their music to date.
“Lila”, one of the tracks off their first album, was chosen by the French filmmaker Broadcast Club, as soundtrack for a short film of the same title, Lila (2009). That film would later go on to receive awards at the 2009 Clermont-Ferrard Festival, France and 2009 Pontenure Film Festival, Italy. This short film was also shortlisted for the 2010 Césars French Film Festival. In addition, “Drianke”, another track off the same album was used for the trailer of Outside Satan by Bruno Dumont, which was selected for introduction at 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Limousine’s latest album is II (2012).
