In order to proficiently play various types of music by different composers and from different eras, one is required to have a high degree of virtuosity. The repertoire as composed using total serialism by Anton von Webern, for instance, will demonstrate a different range of difficulty, when compared to works by Johannes Brahms, or Gyorgy Ligeti. Such is also true with other 20th century music. However, Iswargia Renardi Sudarno ably shows his skills in playing these works.
Iswargia Renardi Sudarno completed his music education at the Manhattan School of Music, New York, US. He also received a semester-scholarship to the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, Germany, under Hansjoerg Koch. During his studies in the US, he received the Aspen Music School Scholarship and the Stanley Norman Smith Award from Manhattan School of Music.
Iswargia has performed with a number of orchestras both in Indonesia and abroad. He founded the Jakarta Conservatory of Music and currently serves as its Director. He gives lectures in music at University of Indonesia, Depok, and University of Pelita Harapan, Tangerang.
