Bila Malam Bertambah Malam speaks of happy teenage love and of deeply buried old love, set against the background of caste differences in Bali. It is a contemplation of how charades and farcical acting are consciously done every day to preserve what one believes as “harmony”. With this play, Teater Mandiri does not employ a lot of visual idioms as they did in the past, but rather presents storytelling and acting on a minimalist stage.
