Fall Classes Announced For South Bend Civic Theater 10/29-11/3

South Bend Civic Theatre announces Civic Theatre Education (CTE) Fall classes for youth interesting in learning and experiencing the fun of making theatre. Registration will begin Monday September 12th with the session starting on October 3rd and running for six weeks (there will be no classes from October 29th through November 3rd).

The Palais Royale - South Bend's Premier Event Facility -- is pleased to host its tenth annual New Year's Eve gala event on Saturday, December 31, which starts at 8:00 p.m. By popular request, this year's event features the return of The Tom Milo Big Band, an 18-piece big band well-known to dance couples, playing a wide selection of music, ranging from the Glenn Miller tunes of the 40's, to Frank Sinatra, to the contemporary hits of artists such as Whitney Houston and Billy Joel. Many of the band members have toured with top name musicians such as Stan Kenton, Les Elgart, Duke Ellington, and others. The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music will host a 'Festival of Friends' musical celebration honoring the life and career of Distinguished Professor Emeritus Harvey Phillips in the Musical Arts Center (MAC) at IU Bloomington on Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. The free event, which will take place almost a year after Phillips' passing, will include performances from faculty, distinguished alumni and students from the Jacobs School.
