Buck Creek Players Announce HAROLD AND MAUDE for 3/23-4/1

The Buck Creek Players will continue their 38th season with the upbeat off-beat comedy, Harold and Maude, by Colin Higgins. The show will open on Friday, March 23, and run on weekends through to Sunday, April 1.

The musical play telling the story of legendary country singer Patsy Cline and her most devoted fan, ALWAYS... PATSY CLINE kicks off Theatre at the Center's 2012 season. Based on a true story of this unparalleled pioneer for female performers and a fan from Houston she befriended in a Texas honky-tonk, the production previews February 23, opens February 26 and runs through April 1. ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE will be directed by Brian Russell. Russell, making his Theatre at the Center debut, is the former Artistic Director of American Theater Company and Director of the 1996 Chicago Premiere of ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE which transferred from Northlight Theatre in Evanston to a lengthy commercial run at Chicago's Apollo Theater. Also making her Theatre at the Center debut, newcomer Heather Beck will star as 'Patsy Cline'. Check out the production photos below!

New York's hit play FREUD'S LAST SESSION is set to begin performances tomorrow, March 15th at The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis for a limited engagement through April 15th. The Indianapolis debut of FREUD'S LAST SESSION stars Scot Greenwell as C. S. Lewis and Gordon McCall as Sigmund Freud. Winner of the 2011 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play, FREUD'S LAST SESSION is currently in its second smash year at NYC's New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), starring Mark H. Dold and Martin Rayner, directed by Tyler Marchant.

The Blaine Jarrett Memorial Scholarship Fund, a fund managed by Buck Creek Players, today announced the availability of the Blaine Jarrett Memorial Scholarship. Any graduating high school senior or college freshman who is currently enrolled or accepted into a performing arts related major/minor at a college or university is eligible to apply.

Madame C. J. Walker will be among the inaugural class of ten famous Hoosiers to be honored with Legacy Awards on Friday, March 2nd at 10 a.m., at the intersection of Capital and Georgia Streets. Images and biographies of the historic figures-whose selection was announced by Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard in December 2011- will be displayed on 6-foot-high columns along Georgia Street. Indianapolis Downtown Inc. (IDI) is coining Georgia Street as Indy's "newest and coolest" venue.
