As the premiere season of LINCOLN comes to a close, the talented actors are moving on to Broadway and other theatre-career possibilities through school and professional auditions.

"We were very fortunate to have such a talented group of professionals to bring the production of LINCOLN to life this summer," says Eric Altheide, Lincoln Amphitheatre's managing director. "As they leave and move on to other theatres we hope that their experiences here at Lincoln Amphitheatre will stay with them."

Nikkieli DeMone, who portrays Frederick Douglass and the fictional character Moses, leaves LINCOLN for Broadway lights. DeMone will portray the beloved Donkey in Shrek.

Matthew Herrmann, who portrays the Spirit Lincoln character, is slated to leave LINCOLN and join the cast of the musical Pope Joan for the Los Angeles remount. Produced by Michael Butler, the musical has plans to move to New York for the 2010 spring season.

Some cast members return to college while others will hit the auditions circuit around the country.

The premiere season of LINCOLN, by playwright Ken Jones, comes to a close this Saturday, August 15, on the very grounds where Abraham Lincoln grew up. Performed in a 1,500-seat, roofed amphitheatre, LINCOLN will leave audiences with a deep understanding of the role Indiana played in forging the character of America's 16th president. Indiana's Lincoln Amphitheatre offers a "Lincoln experience" that includes an Amish-style meal, children's pioneer games, artisan demonstrations, a Lincoln exhibit, plus free popcorn and soft drinks during intermission. Enhanced by multimedia projections, a moveable Broadway-quality set and period music, the production of LINCOLN will give theatre-goers an insight into the life of the man whose legacy continues to impact the future.

Tickets are available online or by calling the box office. Lincoln Amphitheatre is located inside Lincoln State Park in Lincoln City, Indiana. For more information about Lincoln Amphitheatre, visit www.LincolnAmphitheatre.com or call 1-800-264-4223.
