Shakespeare's longest play runs for a little more than four hours, it is incredibly intense and not funny at all. The clowns of The Company Theatre take this notion you have of Hamlet and turn it up-side down. The red nosed ensemble make Hamlet funny and language redundant in 100 minutes.
They misinterpret, misquote and often botch up Shakespeare's text always, however, trying to find the essence ofHamlet. Rajat Kapoor's Hamlet unearths important aspects of the original play and juxtaposes them with the current context all the while having the audiences in splits. Running to packed houses since '09, Hamlet has seen success not only on home turf but also in UK, UAE and Israel.
