Representative Dr. Ito Presenting Certificates To Xiqu Instructors At UHM

During the 2016 legislative session Representative Dr. Ken Ito submitted legislation to appropriate funds for various programs and supporting functions for the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Hawai'i at M?noa.

The performance, Fights & Delights: Three Chinese Comedies, is a culmination of that legislation. If not for the hard work and dedication of the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Hawai'i at M?noa as well as the professors and staff, this authentic Chinese Theatre (Xiqu) production would have never been possible. Representative Dr. Ito is scheduled to present Certificates of Appreciation to the visiting instructors-in-residence from China at the final performance of Fights & Delights: Three Chinese Comedies.

The presentation is planned to take place at 2:00 p.m. on the mainstage of UHM's Kennedy Theatre at 1770 East-West Road in Honolulu.
