Equity actors for roles in Theatre SilCo's 2026 Season (See breakdown).
PREPARATION
Please prepare 2 contrasting monologues unless auditioning for one of the musicals in the season. If so, please prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the genre of the show and a single monologue. An accompanist will be provided. Please do not audition with material from the show you’re auditioning for. Prepared material should not exceed 3-minutes in length.

Personality: Charming, playful with swagger — torn between fame and missing the authenticity of his Sun Records roots. Notes: Actor plays guitar and sounds and moves like Elvis — signature voice, hip movements, and stage flair are key.
- Johnny Cash (Male) (20s) - Vocal Range: Bass/Baritone (A2 – E4), Character Type: Calm, grounded, the “Man in Black” persona emerging. Personality: Quiet strength, morally centered, beginning to pull away from Sun Records. Notes: Deep, steady presence. Rhythm guitar. Nails Cash’s signature vocal tone and stoic humor.
- Jerry Lee Lewis (Male) (20s) - Vocal Range: Tenor (A2 – C5), Character Type: Wild, young firebrand pianist — just arriving at Sun Records. Personality: Chaotic, brash, comic relief with explosive musical energy and ego to match. Notes: Piano skills required — Plays live and must bring outrageous physicality and comedic timing.
- Carl Perkins (Male) (20s) - Vocal Range: Tenor/Baritone (A2 – A4), Character Type: Skilled guitarist, feels overshadowed by Elvis (who made his song famous). Personality: Hard-edged, bitter but passionate and proud of his musicianship. Lead Guitar.
- Sam Phillips (Male) (30s) - Role Type: Spoken with occasional singing moments. Character Type: Founder of Sun Records — the “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Personality: Savvy, father-figure/mentor but also a businessman trying to keep his label alive.
- Dyanne (Female) (20s) - Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (D4 – E5), Character Type: Elvis’s girlfriend (based on a composite figure, not a real attendee). Personality: Witty, grounded, not starstruck — offers a different emotional perspective.
