Goppy: Grandfather of Agnostic.

Medicine Woman: Wise woman of the RainForest Tribe, 50’s.

Mason: Brother of Robyn Baxter, 19yo, (now deceased, flashback).

Jasmine/Jazz: Best friend of Bobyn Baxter.

NATASHA, PIERRE, AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 by Dave Mallow, directed by TBD

A diverse group of actors and vocalists. Playing instruments is a plus, please indicate in your audition submission what instruments you play.

Natasha: The ingénue. Profoundly, lethally romantic, innocent, and doughy-eyed. She loves Andrey with all her heart. Very impetuous and impulsive. Range: Soprano, G3-F5.

Pierre: Dear, bewildered, and awkward. Unhappily married to Helene. A man who is searching for some, any, meaning in and for his life. A melancholy outsider, despite his great wealth. Gruff, pessimistic and detached. Range: Bari-Tenor, Ab2-Ab4.

Sonya: Natasha's cousin, dear friend and confidante. She has lived with Natasha's family like a daughter since childhood. Passionate, selfless, loyal, and devoted to her friend. Range: Mezzo-Soprano, B3-C5.

Anatole: Aristocrat. Power and Rake-ishness incarnate. Seductive hedonist. He spends his money on women and wine. An attractive, self-centered, player, seducer, and Rockstar. Range: Tenor, B2-C#5.

Helene: Strong, self-absorbed (like her brother, Anatol), likes to stir things up and cause problems for people for her own enjoyment. Enjoys a somewhat incest-y relationship with her brother and having an affair with Dolokhov, all while married to poor Pierre. Range: Alto, G3-F5.

Marya: The grande dame of Moscow, a mother figure, old fashioned and chatty but deeply kind. Strong sense of humor, self-awareness. Glamorous. Natasha's Godmother, strict yet kind. A domineering, doting and protective guardian. Range: Alto, G3-B4.

Dolokhov: A fierce officer in the military. Anatole's closest friend, and co-conspirator. Having an affair with Pierre's wife and a crazy good shot when in a duel. Hedonistic and a bit of a sociopath. Droll sense of humor. Fiercely intelligent. Range: Baritone, E3-F4.

Mary: Lonely, plain, spinster daughter of a wealthy price. She is cut off from the world in her father's grand old house and resigned to his cruelty. Andrey's put-upon sister. Track includes the lead opera singer and a domestic serf. Should also have command of extended vocal techniques (e.g. glottal yodeling, ululation). Mezzo-Soprano, G3-B4.

Prince Andrey/Old Prince Bolkonsky: Andrey is the romantic love of Natasha's life and her fiance. The finest catch in all of Russia. He is off to fight Napoleon and isn't here. Old Bolkonsky is crazy old and beyond cranky, verging on crazy. Conservative, old-fashioned aristocrat. Range: Baritone, F2-Eb3.

Balaga: A crazy Russian troika driver who drives a troika like a maniac race car driver. Can drink incredible amounts. Lower class. Bold. Dripping with energy. Ragged and raw but warm. Also plays the lead opera singer and several domestic serfs. Range: Baritone, A2-E4.

Ensemble: Russian society, from rustic villagers to aristocratic opera attendees; excellent singers and movers, and comfortable with audience interaction.
