Please title your video: FULL NAME-SOM EPA. Do not attach full video files to email or upload full video file to a file download service (eg, WeTransfer, YouSendIt, Google Drive, etc). Please make the video private or if password protected, please send password.

BREAKDOWN

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

If you’re using a phone to record video, please film horizontally. At the top of your video, please state you name, height, city of residence and your Equity Status.

Please submit a video of a short, traditional musical theatre song in the style of the show. You may also use the accompaniment at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1txDe2NelLcsyqaOk3QZ-8C2dRWF6TxPG?usp=sharing .

NOTE: Adult actors may be considered for understudy and/or ensemble roles.

[MARIA] – female, early 20s – early 30s; filled with self-doubt, yet spirited, caring and committed. Chest mix with strong head voice; PRINCIPAL.

[CAPTAIN VON TRAPP] – male, late 30s to 50; commanding presence – retired naval officer and proud Austrian; some guitar ability a plus. Baritone; PRINCIPAL.

[MOTHER ABBESS] – female, mid 40s – 50, Wise, kind and strong. Powerful Mezzo (B to A-flat); PRINCIPAL.

[ELSA SCHRADER] – female, mid 30s – early 40s wealthy, sophisticated, charming. Legit-Mezzo range (A to E below high C); PRINCIPAL.

[MAX DETWEILLER] – male, 40s – 50s; witty and rascally impresario. Strong character with a good sense of comedy, Baritone; PRINCIPAL

[LIESL VON TRAPP] – female; 18+ to play 16; girl on the verge of womanhood. Chest mix with a head voice (low G to F#); moves well. PRINCIPAL.

[ROLF GRUBER] male; 18+ to play 17; epitome of clean cut, athletic German youth. Lyric Baritone moves well. PRINCIPAL.

[FRANZ] – male, mid 30s to 50s; Distant and efficient butler; PRINCIPAL.

[FRAU SCHMIDT] – female, mid 30s to 50s; Efficient yet caring housekeeper, Legit voice. PRINCIPAL.

[HERR ZELLER] – male, late 20s – 40s; A staunch Nazi sympathizer and eventually a leader in the Nazi regime. PRINCIPAL.
