BREAKDOWN
The Mysterious Affair at Styles, adapted from Agatha Christie
Emily Inglethorp, female, 60's, recently married to a much younger man, Emily is the matriarch and driving force at Styles Court. She runs a hundred charitable societies, but is too busy to see the danger around her until it's too late.
John Cavendish, male, 40's, Emily's elder stepson. A former attorney who is living at Styles with his wife.
Mary Cavendish, female, 30's/early 40's. Married to John Cavendish. Very smart with a dry sense of humor. She married for convenience and is now too stubborn to admit she's in love with her husband.
Cynthia Murdoch, female, 20's. Emily's ward. She works in the dispensary of a nearby clinic. Good-humored, lively, and quick-witted
Alfred Inglethorp, male, 30's. Emily's former secretary, now her husband. He's an odd-bird and doesn't get along with the rest of the family.
Hercule Poirot, male, 40's/50's, a Belgian detective. Fastidious, good-humored, and obsessive in his attention to detail.
Sir Ernest Heavywether, male, 40+, a powerhouse defense attorney.
Arthur Hastings, male, 40's. John's old school friend. Recently invalided during the war and staying at Styles while he recuperates. Fancies himself an amateur detective. Watson to Poirot's Holmes.
Detective Jimmy Japp, male, 40's+. Scotland Yard detective. Worked with Poirot on previous cases. Called in to investigate Emily's murder.
