THE MELODY LINGERS ON – Equity Principal Auditions

Inside Broadway (NYC) TYA Tier 1; $445/week minimum for Actor/ASM

NYC School tour rehearses February 28th – March 13, Performances start March 14 – Mid May.

This show will be performed in New York City public elementary, middle and high schools. There will be a two week layoff during April 18th – May 1st.

Equity Principal Auditions:

Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the Actors' Equity Audition Center

9:30 AM — 5:30 PM 165 West 46th Street, 2nd Floor

Lunch from 1 - 2. New York, NY

Prepare a brief song, preferably in the style of Broadway’s Golden Age (Berlin, R&H, etc.)

Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

Callbacks will be held in the afternoon on February 3. If called back, you will be asked to dance, so be prepared with jazz and tap shoes.

The Melody Lingers On is performed in the mornings in a special 45-minute version. There is a Q&A session with the students after each performance. Transportation to and from the schools is provided. All roles will be designated Actor/ASM positions.

The producer and director are strongly dedicated to interracial casting and ethnic minorities are greatly encouraged to attend.

Seeking a multi-cultural cast of two (2) strong singers who dance well for this multi-cultural touring production.

1 male:

Early 20s – early 30s. Bari-tenor. Softshoe background in dance needed.

1 female:

Early 20s – early 30s. Mezzo-belter. Softshoe background in dance needed.

All must be able to play a range of characters and give 100% at a 9:00 am performance.

Must be comfortable singing in various styles and have facility communicating with young audiences. Must have a sense of humor and be able to convey that to a young audience.
