SEEKING
Equity actors for roles in THE CURE AT TROY by Seamus Heaney.
Odysseus (40's to 50's) – King of Ithaca, returned to the island of Lemnos to retrieve Philoctetes’ magical bow and arrow in an attempt to win the Trojan War. Persuasive, deceitful, cunning, determined.
Neoptolemus – Son of Achilles who accompanies Odysseus on his mission, a pawn in the contest between Philoctetes and Odysseus. Honorable, compassionate, torn between what is right and what is ordered by his commander. Youthful and gullible.
Chorus (3) - Sailors under the command of Neoptolemus. Also Sentry, Spy disguised as Merchant, and Hercules.
Philoctetes (PRECAST)– An archer wounded by a festering snake bite and abandoned by Odysseus on the island of Lemnos. Full of brooding hatred and resentment.
