APPOINTMENTS

This call will be run on a first-come, first-served basis beginning on the day of the audition at the audition site. Sign-ups will begin the morning of the audition at 10:30 AM. No appointments ahead of time. Please don’t feel the need to line up early — there will be plenty of time to be seen during the day; everyone will be seen.

For A Christmas Carol, no smoke, fog, strobe lights, stage fighting, or vocal amplification shall be used.

Equity actors for roles in Santa Cruz Shakespeare's 2026 LOA and TYA seasons.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

All roles in the season have been cast except the following:

• Jamie in THE LAST FIVE YEARS (vocal range top Bb4; bottom A2) — doubles with Victor in PRIVATE LIVES, Borrachio in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, and ensemble in MACBETH
• Rose in FENCES — doubles with a Witch in MACBETH
• Bono in FENCES — doubles with TBD in MACBETH
• Gabriel in FENCES — doubles with Macduff or TBD in MACBETH
• Lyons in FENCES — doubles with Macduff or TBD in MACBETH
• Margaret in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING — doubles with TBD in MACBETH

The characters in FENCES yet to be cast are all Black.

PREPARATION

Please prepare two contrasting pieces, at least one of them Shakespeare (yes, both can be Shakespeare), under three minutes total. Shorter is better. One of those pieces can be 32 bars in the style of THE LAST FIVE YEARS if you want to be considered for Jamie.
