[KING TRITON] (early-mid 40s): Legit Baritone. Ariel’s father and ruler of the merfolk. Beneath his imposing presence and commanding nature is a concerned, harried single father of seven girls. He clashes with Ariel because they are both strong-willed and short-tempered, and he is increasingly skeptical of humans. He worries about Ariel’s desire to be human only because he loves her so much.

[URSULA] (Female, 35 – 45) Mezzo with excellent Broadway belt. The manipulative and cunning sea witch. She is King Triton’s jealous, half-octopus sister who has been banished for killing his wife and attempting to usurp the kingdom. Ursula is extremely calculating, deceptive, and shrewd. A superb comedienne.

[SCUTTLE] (mid 20s – mid 30s): Baritone or Alto. A loud mouthed, disheveled, and nonsensical seagull. He fancies himself an expert on the human world. An excellent comedian/vaudevillian and an excellent tapper.
