BREAKDOWN
SWEET CHARITY
SEEKING:
URSULA MARCH - Vittorio's glamorous, sensual, and volatile lover. Madly in love with Vittorio, but jealous to a fault. Their on-again off-again carousel spins round and round.
DADDY BRUBECK - A preacher, bandleader, and charismatic hustler who has turned nightlife into a psychedelic religion. Requires an amazing vocalist and dancer with commanding presence. Vocally leads The Rhythm of Life.
HERMAN - The gruff, cheap, and perpetually irritated manager of the Fandango Ballroom, with a genuine affection for its inhabitants that he rarely admits. A strong comic character, excellent dancer. Vocally leads I Love to Cry at Weddings.
MR. NICHOLSBY - A brisk employment agent who mistakes Charity's genuine desperation for an elaborate prank. A character with sharp timing who's also an excellent dancer.
ENSEMBLE - Exceptional dancers, singers, and fearless storytellers who create the fluid, funny, sensual, and hard-edged world surrounding Charity. They play Fandango dancers, socialites, panhandlers, cops, waiters, hippies, and everything in between.
