Seeking Ensemble Dancers Who Sing (M/F):
Casting Director states: “We are seeking a WIDE RANGE of “types” – TALL is a BIG PLUS; ALSO, very interested in the unexpected, such as large and round “earth mother”-types or very large people of either gender who can move exceptionally well, or people of indeterminate race, or even people with marching band/cheerleading experience.”
Performers must be able to dance well enough to handle choreography rooted in post-modern/modern dance and in the gestural language of Bill T. Jones. Ballet and modern. Circus training, acrobatics, aerial work a plus. Ability to improvise and communicate through an original movement sequence. Tap dancing/ballroom/social dancing from the early 80s back to the 20s/30s is a plus. Must be able to sing, sometimes multi-part harmony, and be familiar with or have a feel for 1970s R&B/Soul/Funk music.
