Seeking (all roles are available (i.e. not yet offered and accepted) unless otherwise specified):

Wilhelm Canaris:

AVAILABLE ROLE. German, late 40s – early 50s. World War 1 German Imperial Navy U-boat hero and spy, later appointed German Military Intelligence Chief by Hitler in 1934. Secretly hanged as a double agent by the Gestapo in 1945. Weary, mild-mannered, tightly wrapped and high-strung. Ambitious and irrationally confident, detached and disturbed. Seeking actor capable of a German accent and a lisp.

Kim Philby:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Englishman, 30s. British Intelligence double agent who famously defected to the Soviet Union in 1963. The Third Man of a network of distinguished Englishmen who secretly spied for Stalin’s Communist Russia beginning in the 1930s. Handsome, fit and smug; his despair lurks underneath his Cambridge-coiffed matinee-idol façade. A fraying caricature. David Niven in “Separate Tables” inside James Bond unraveled. Actor must be capable of an upper-class, BBC British accent, as well as a stutter.

Francisco Franco Bahamonde:

CAST (i.e. offer has been accepted; auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary). Spanish man, 40s. Victorious leader of a Nationalists’ military revolt from 1936 to 1939 against Spain’s Republican government. Neutral during WWII, he remained Spanish head of state for 36 years, until his death.
