You will receive an email or phone call confirming your audition time. Equity Members without appointments will be seen throughout the audition day, as time permits.

Auditions will be in 5-minute slots. Actors may choose to read one or more scenes from the season’s plays, perform one or more monologues of their choice, or prepare a combination of scene(s) and monologues(s) from other sources. SpeakEasy suggests that actors not preparing scenes choose two contrasting monologues. Scripts are available for perusal at the StageSource office, 88 Tremont Street, Boston. See

Please bring TWO copies of your stapled headshot /resume.

2011-2012 Season DRAMAS with available roles:

NEXT FALL

Director: Scott Edmiston

Dates: September 16 - October 15, 2011.

Adam: 45, a substitute teacher, neurotic, a little scatter-brained, atheist, Luke’s boyfriend

This role has already been cast. Any auditions for this role will be considered only as an understudy or replacement if necessary.

Luke: 30, an aspiring actor, attractive, calm and collected, professed Christian, Adam’s boyfriend

Holly: 35, a candle shop owner, extremely supportive, spiritual, Adam’s longtime friend

Brandon: 30, a property developer, quiet, Luke’s friend

Arlene: 50, a divorcee, brash, loud, conservative, Luke’s mother

Butch: 55, a businessman, alpha male, right-wing fundamentalist, Luke’s father

This role has already been cast. Any auditions for this role will be considered only as an understudy or replacement if necessary.

THE DIVINE SISTER

Dates: October 21 - November 19, 2011.

Agnes: an ethereal young postulant

Sister Walburga: a severe doctrinarian. Played by the actress who plays Mrs. MacDuffie.

Mrs. MacDuffie: an old Scottish charwoman. Played by the actress who plays Sister Walburga.

Sister Acacius aka Lil: a friend of Mother Superior from the prior life

Mother Superior aka Susan: the Mother Superior at an almost bankrupt convent. Played by a male actor

Mrs. Levinson: an imposing and elegant matriarch. Played by the actress who plays Timothy.

Timothy: a sensitive 12 year-old student. Played by the actress who plays Mrs. Levinson.

Jeremy: a handsome, virile man in his forties. Played by the actor who plays Brother Venerius.

Brother Venerius: a sinister Albino monk. Played by the actor who plays Jeremy.

RED

Dates: March 4- April 2, 2012.

The following roles have been CAST. However, still seeking Understudies and actors will also be considered for replacements if necessary:

Mark Rothko Understudy: 50s or older, famous American painter, a little self-absorbed, wholly devoted to his work, not very sociable

Ken Understudy: 20s, Rothko’s new assistant, aspiring painter himself, a little self-conscious, passionate about art, sincerely wants to learn from Rothko
