1) Developmental Reading (1st reh: 10/13/10; reading on 10/18. TYA per-performance contract; $11/hr. (rehearsal), $69/reading).
2) Five-Borough NYC Tour (includes three-week run at Henry St. Settlement in Manhattan). (1st reh: 1/17/11. Runs 2/7-3/21. Possible out-of-town perfs week of 3/21. TYA weekly contract; Actors: $426/week minimum, Actor/ASM: $445/week minimum).

Seeking (all roles are available (i.e. not yet offered and accepted)):
Notes: Actors who are adept at movement and who play an instrument are a plus. One actor will be hired as Actor/ASM (ASM duties include being on book, assisting the PSM, setting up rehearsal set pieces/props and assisting with monitoring rehearsal breaks).
Mickey:
Seeking actor 18+ to play 15 years old; any ethnicity. Mickey is a tough, streetwise, NYC kid enduring the Great Depression. Ready to prove that he can take on life's challenges, and that he is no longer a “little kid”. Youthful tenor, D to high G#.
Dan / Jim:
Man, 30s. Dan: Any ethnicity. Mickey's father. Struggling artist looking to do all he can to make a better life for his son during the Great Depression. Warm-hearted; always looking out for the best interests of others. Actor also plays Jim, a Mohawk iron-worker. Baritone, B flat to F.
Little Joe:
Seeking actress 18+ to play 13 years old. Little Joe is a Native American (Mohawk) girl, disguised as a water boy. Wise for her age. A kind spirit who has a bit of a spunky edge as well. Takes pride in her heritage. Alto, A to D.
Big Joe / Sky Boy:
Man, late 40s. Character is Native American (Mohawk). Little Joe's father. Iron-worker; boss of the riveting gang. Cool, calm and collected. Big soul who leads with knowledge and grace. Actor also plays a Sky Boy (construction worker). Bass-baritone, low G to high E.
Matt / Sky Boy:
Male, late teens to early 20s. Character is Native American (Mohawk). Iron-worker. Stands firm in the views of his people. A bit of a hothead. Suffering the recent loss of his father, he is looking to place blame on “outsiders” for his pain. Unwavering at first, but eventually sees the world as bigger than himself and his heritage. Actor also plays a Sky Boy (construction worker). Lyric baritone, D to high G.
Lewis Hine / Others:
Man, early 40s, any ethnicity. Official photographer of the Empire State Building. Inspiring man; views the world positively and creatively through his art; a teacher and comrade. Actor also plays a Sky Boy (construction worker) and Ron, a Mohawk iron-worker. Baritone, B flat to F.
