PREPARATION

All actors must prepare a one minute monologue, preferably one of political nature. For those auditioning for Ruth, please prepare a monologue that highlights her intellectual side. And for those auditioning for the role of Sandra, prepare a monologue that highlights her down-home southern roots.

RUTH BADER GINSBURG (50’s - 70)

She is a liberal New Yorker, an intellectual, exquisitely turned out. A big brain housed in a small body, she is a woman who tastes her words before speaking them.

SANDRA DAY O’CONNOR (50’s-70)

Sandra is a charming, confident, charismatic, rancher’s daughter; a Reagan Republican, a Westerner, a dynamic extrovert, comfortable in her own skin.
