ACTORS
Bill:
40-45. Well-to-do doctor with an edge and a 20-year-old daughter. Somewhat Machiavellian; a closeted S&M devotee. Jeremy Irons type.
Ethel:
20. Bill’s daughter. Astute but delicate student. Truth-teller; she is also gullible. Joan Fontaine or Audrey Hepburn type.
David:
25. Actor who projects the ability to portray a sadistic torturer on stage. Bisexual, he is secretly in relationship with the good doctor. He also marries Ethel. Has a history of swinging.
A.I.D.S.
Otto:
27. HIV-positive. Terminal. Likable. An idealist. Sweet-natured, but with a steel will.
Evan:
30. Otto’s best friend. Forced into a terrible moral dilemma that fills him with the profoundest angst: If his lover is dying anyway, would he be willing to sacrifice him for money? A young Anthony Hopkins.
Dina and Alba
Alba:
Mid 20s. Committed gay woman. Beautiful and sexy. Capable of murdering for revenge. Not necessarily a Latina, a young Jennifer Lopez could do this.
Dina:
Mid 30s. Alba’s lover. Also beautiful and sexy, but more conflicted about her sexuality. Somewhat depressed. Perhaps suicidal. Has an impulsive, dangerous side to her nature that makes her hard to read and encompasses doing many things. Naomi Watts could do this.
The Piggy Bank
The Man:
30s. Con man/pimp. Has an animal magnetism which can turn brutal. Willing to use a knife on a “john” if he has to. Young Burt Reynolds type.
She:
25. Beautiful and instinctual. Passes herself off as a professional, but slightly eccentric. Gives the impression of being interested in her clients. Tuesday Weld or Gena Rowlands could do this.
He:
50. A “john”. Married, with three kids. Nervous. Out of his element with the girl. Comedic role, though the situation is fraught with genuine danger. Woody Allen type.
