SEEKING

:

RACHEL – (late 20s female-identifying) an affluent housewife seeking a divorce from her powerful and manipulative husband. She’s lived in a West Palm Beach bubble of comfort and stability despite her volatile marriage. Privileged. Indecisive. Trying to hold it together while slowly realizing the danger she’s in. Alto with belt, G3-Eb5.

JACOB – (Mid-20s male-identifying) an openly queer campaign press agent. Extremely confident. Owns whatever room he enters. Eager to climb up the political ladder. Jacob embodies the inherent contradiction of being incredibly self-assured while also eager to please and satisfy those around him. Tenor, Bb2-A4.

DAVID – (Mid-20s male-identifying) a recently released convict who’s spent years both selling and using narcotics. Despite being a dependable dealer, David likes to keep to himself. He’s quiet and reserved, but considering his background, he knows how to defend himself when he needs to. Baritenor, A2-Ab4.

KAREN – (Mid-20s female-identifying) the loudest, most obnoxious and selfish Wendy’s cashier you’ll ever meet. She’s also a ruthless Twitter troll. Her boorishness comes from a place of insecurity and desire to become what she sees online on a daily basis. But even with that insecurity, she’s not a woman to be messed with. Mezzo-soprano with belt, F3-F#5.

2 FEMALE CHORUS MEMBERS – (Mid-20s, female-identifying), a “Greek Chorus” that narrates the action throughout the show and becomes various characters including TIFFANY, a gentle yet brazen woman who is Rachel’s best friend; ALISON, a no-nonsense and overtly blunt professional who works with Jacob; MELISSA, David’s girlfriend who has gone missing; and others. Will also understudy Rachel and Karen. Alto or Mezzo-soprano with belt.

2 MALE CHORUS MEMBERS – (Mid-20s, male-identifying), a “Greek Chorus” that narrates the action throughout the show and becomes various characters including FLORIDA FAMOUS, a smooth-talking social media mogul; MR. GRANGE, a mysterious man always dressed in a clean suit; CHRIS, a handsome businessman; and others. Will also understudy Jacob and David. Baritenor or tenor.
