Quirky romantic comedy about two ordinary Americans who have run away to the last place they expect to find love.

Seeking:

Hal:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Late 30s. Former Kentucky woodsman who fled to an isolated cabin in the middle of Iceland after a dangerous and traumatic incident with a lover. A woodsman. Burly. Masculine. Sensitive. Deeply kind. His exterior is practical, earth-bound, rugged, hands-on, mundane. Inside, there's the soul of an artist and a romantic. Outwardly reserved (he typically goes weeks, even months, without seeing or speaking to anyone in his cabin on the glacier), inwardly he can be quite childlike in his enthusiasms and has boundless love to give. A cowboy secretly afraid of his own shadow. Large role.

Thor:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Male, 30s-50s or even 60. Thor is ageless. A trickster. Somewhat supernatural in the Celtic or Norse tradition of gnomes, elves, “Hidden People” and the like, though outwardly he looks and acts like a person. Impish. Puck-like. Energetic. Inventive. A charmer on his good days, but powerful and dangerous when he gets cross. Commands authority. Powerful. Unpredictable. Magical. Takes an inventive actor. Medium role.

Caroline:

CAST. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary. 30s. Established New York writer. Adventurous and determined. Well-educated and accomplished. Wildly imaginative and passionate inwardly, yet shields herself with a pragmatic exterior. Caroline is determined not to love again; she has kept her heart on lock-down ever since a mysterious incident in her past. Yet she finds herself strangely drawn to Hal in spite of her best efforts to rebuff him. Large role.
