Please prepare a brief Broadway legit song. You may be cut off after 1 minute. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but may not transpose. Please bring a photo and resume, stapled back-to-back.

Roles:

ANNA CHRISTOPHERSON: ABOUT TWENTY FIVE. A bittersweet, young prostitute who is sick. tired, and disillusioned but there is an honesty and charm about her and a hope which emerges as she leaves the"life" behind and purified by devotion, falls in love. Mezzo soprano.

CHRIS CHRISTOPHERSON: ANNA'S FATHER: FIFTY OR SO.....a thickheaded, warm hearted barge captain full of sincerity and force. Hi sings like a musical trooper and speaks with a Swedish accent. Baritone

MATT: A HANDSOME IRISHMAN: TWENTY-FIVE TO THIRTY-FIVE. Very masculine-- Full of swagger and earnestness. Very romantic...with a beautiful baritone voice.

MARTHY: THE HEART OF THE PIECE: TWENTY FIVE TO THIRTY. the beat-up drinking companion of Anna's father, Chris. Sassy and cynical and very smart,can be very moving... with a hidden beauty of her own. Mezzo Soprano

PETE. OSCAR and LARRY: Longshoreman doubling as sailor, 20’s/30’s. Wide Range.

ROSE, PANSY and PEARL: Bar girls/Trollops/Ladies at the Ball. 20’s Soprano/Mezzo Soprano.
