TWO LAKES TWO RIVERS

BY: Laura Jacqmin

5(F), 3(M)

DODIE: late 50’s or early 60’s. PETER’s father. Midwestern born and raised. Raised PETER by himself. Probably has the kind of job where he works with his hands. A kind man, which doesn’t excuse him from missing a lot, on a regular basis.

PETER: 22 years old. A senior in college. Dead. Not the easiest guy to love – or even like. PETER’s meanness is the quiet kind, which makes it that much uglier when it comes out. Handsome, in a classical way. Magnetic, the way boys like this always are. Tall, blonde, all of that.

BONNIE: 20 years old. A junior in college. PETER’s ex-girlfriend. More of a tomboy. Should be small: shorter than an average person, and just small all around. She probably doesn’t have many female friends. Not into the kinds of things most girls are into.

NICK: 21 years old. A senior in college. PETER’s sometimes-best friend and BONNIE’s current best friend. A quieter guy than PETER was – NICK just always sort of went along with everything. Which is both a strength and a weakness, when you think about it. NICK might be even more handsome than PETER, but in a different way – a more unique way.

CHRISTINE CARR: 40’s. A middle-aged female private investigator of sorts, down from Hackalatchee County – or at least, that’s where she says she came from. There’s something a bit supernatural about her, but she shouldn’t come across as anything but normal. Overly normal, in fact.

THE MOMS (3): 40’s-50’s. They’re the Moms of the boys who’ve drowned. They’re strange.

OFFICER GARRETTY: a police officer. Emotional. (Played by one of THE MOMS)

EUGENIA TATE: a witness. No-nonsense. (Played by one of THE MOMS)

BETSY BOBST: a cable access news program host. (Played by one of THE MOMS)

THE TALL GIRLS

BY: Meg Miroshnik

5(F), 1 (M)

JEAN, 15 ½, the strong forward. Cool-headed and decisive. A natural strategist. New to the sport.

ALMEDA, 14, the shooting guard. Scrappy, muscular, and temperamental; most likely to intentionally foul.

INEZ, 17, the captain. Very little natural athletic skill, but a nurturing presence.

LURLENE, 16, the center. Tall and lazy. Unlikely to practice or rebound. A boy-crazy liar.

PUPPY, 18, the point guard. Small—very, very small. A little lady in the making, but a fast, nimble ball handler.

HAUNT JOHNNY. Handsome and much, much older.

HYPE HERO (King Patch)

RECLAMATION

BY: Ken Weitzman

Leland: Male, white, early 60s. Suit and cowboy boots.

Zachary: Male, white, mid to late 20s. His nephew. Good-looking.

Winona: Female, ethnicity inscrutable. Age too. Perhaps she’s 40s, or 50s. Captivating.

BY: Basil Kreimendahl
